Baby MJ waiting for liver cancer results
MJ spent a total of 37 days in the NICU and when he was discharged from hospital he weighed 1.9kg.
The Botha couple have been waiting for seven years for their bundle of joy to arrive, but now that they have their little bundle they are waiting for the liver cancer results.
Baby MJ Botha paid the staff at the WITBANK NEWS offices a visit on Wednesday, October 11 and holding this tiny baby who seemed so fragile but yet such a fighter.

In January when the Botha couple found out that they were expecting their first baby, they were over the moon and could not wait to meet their baby.
Ms Shauné had a good pregnancy and on Thursday, September 7 she was admitted into Life Cosmos Hospital.
Mr Marius stayed with his wife the whole time during the birth, and then the moment they had been waiting for arrived, baby MJ was born.
He weighed 1.67kg at birth and was placed in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
Dr Padmash Daya (Obstetrics and Gynaecologist) and Dr Christian Edeani (Paediatrician) were the doctors overseeing MJ’s birth. While in NICU, MJ started to loose weight and he dropped to 1.14kg.
As Dr Edeani started doing more and more tests on MJ he discovered a small lump on his liver.
Tests were done on it and the doctor was afraid that it was cancerous and arranged that MJ go to see a specialist at Unitas Hospital in Pretoria for an MRI scan and more tests.
MJ spent a total of 37 days in the NICU and when he was discharged from hospital he weighed 1.9kg.

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff and Dr Edeani at Life Cosmos Hospital for taking such good care of our precious bundle of joy, the love you gave him, the help and for sending us photos of him during his stay; it’s really appreciated,” said Marius.
On Thursday, October 12 the Botha couple took MJ to Unitas Hospital where he underwent an MRI scan and further tests.
According to Dr Reynders( Paediatric Oncologist) the mass on the liver does not look like cancer, but looks like an abscess on the liver.
But this can’t be confirmed yet as they are waiting for the blood test results from the specialist.
The Botha couple are praying that it’s not cancerous and they have faith that their prayers will be answered just like their prayers were answered to conceive a child after seven years.
