Medina blames protesters for accident

Mr Ebrahim Suliman, owner of Medina Transport, in an interview today said his driver was not at fault and blames the organisers of the peaceful protest for the accident on Monday, October 30 on the N4.

Suliman said his driver, Mr Thole Darlington, came over a blind rise could not stop in time to avoid the cars standing on the N4.

“Our truck was loaded with coal and at the time of the accident driving only 50km/h. But take the load into consideration and you will find that stopping in time was impossible,” Suliman said.

He provided WITBANK NEWS with proof that his truck and trailer is roadworthy, the brakes tested two months ago and the driver was in possession of a valid professional driving permit and license.
