Emalahleni Local Municipality hereby notifies all consumers that there has been a delay in issuing of rates and taxes statements since the implementation of the new financial system.
This was due to various adjustments which had to be made on the new financial system during the migration which required the municipality to ensure information accuracy.
Please be advised that on the rates and taxes statement the Easypay barcode generated on the new system varies from the previous one, the current barcode contains 20 digits and the previous statement had 15 digits.
All consumers who use various retail outlets to make payments are advised to use the barcode printed on new statements which were printed after August. The various retail outlets have updated their systems to match the new barcode which contain additional characters.
Consumers who have paid their accounts at the South African Post Office and Spar outlets are requested to contact the municipality should they notice that their payments have not been updated on their respective accounts. All payments made at various outlets (eg.
