Eskom and the applicants, through their respective representatives, are currently engaging the Office of the Deputy Judge President for a hearing date for early January 2018.
They want to put the Emalahleni debt on the table and local attorney Johan Coetzee wants to pursue the order to stop Eskom from disrupting electricity.
Eskom has suspended the planned interruption of bulk power supply to the municipality planned for December 14, after the High Court in Pretoria yesterday issued an interim order to suspend the interruption.
“Municipal customers are encouraged to engage with their supply authority to get updated information on their municipality’s arrear debt,” Eskom wrote in an official statement.
A formal notice by Eskom in this regard will be published in WITBANK NEWS on December 22.
