A road not closed

Mr Manie Strydom lives at Naauwpoort plots and over the last few years he had corner poles damaged by road users.

They were removed and he replanted them, again damaged and even flattened by a truck, but he always replanted the poles. He then one morning caught someone taking the damaged pole and wire for scrap.

Then over time as the roads were graded his pole was damaged and he replaced it again.

Months later a man with a bakkie hit the pole as he did not take the corner correctly. Strydom then put rocks as a marker but that was graded away again so it cost him to get a surveyor out to remark his ground.

He took his transport and made sure that his ground is legally registered and the access road as well as the registration of the road.

The piece of land blocked off by Mr Manie Strydom.

“I am proceeding to plant all my markings on the boundary line and I have put reflectors and danger tape around the poles so that all can see the markers. Again, everything I have done and still doing on the boundary line is legal. To all whom this may concern, if you are planning to buy ground take note whether it is water front or ground overlooking the dam, it is important to take time and find out what you are buying,” Strydom said.

He added that new buyers must take time and find out what are legal access points to your ground, how wide your servitude may be.

“I do not have to ask anyone permission to close my property or plant boundary markers. It is all done legally and the road is still open that runs through my property,” he concluded.
