Military veterans staying are complaining about their houses at Siyanqoba Village just few kilometres from Klarinet.
The veterans though one of them, Mr Lastborn Zimu who is the provincial secretary took the matter a step further by inviting the leadership of the military veterans and officials from the national department of human settlement for a visit to the place.

“We invited the national executive of the South African Military Veterans Association (SAMVA) to see for themselves the poor quality of our houses. The president of SAMVA Mr Lucky Magingva, Mr George Biya deputy secretary, Themish Murupane, coordinator of Mpumalanga Military Veterans, Alfred Mathibela provincial executive committee member, Lucky Masuku regional executive committee member of Umkhonto Wesizwe were all present,” said Zimu.

Mr also stated that the houses are cracking in the wall, as well as cracks on the windows and when it rains one can see the bricks inside the houses. The veterans do not have electricity in their houses, no water, as well as sanitation is poor for the past eight months according to Zimu.
Mr Zimu added to say that they also invited the official’s human from settlement, the contractor, building inspector and the MEC of human settlement Mr Speedy Mashilo to come and see for themselves under which conditions they live in.

“We have given them three weeks to respond to our problems, we do not deserve to live under such bad conditions and we have been quite for a long time, enough is enough,” added Zimu.
