Dorcas is changing lives using a microphone
It is true, music is a universal language.

This is where people from all types of backgrounds get to connect.
Dorcas Mafiri (42) uses the microphone and stage to change lives.
The Sepedi singing artist has two albums under her belt.

Her first offering was released in 2015 named ‘Nkgaugele’, the second CD titled ‘Wa re lwela’ was released in November last year.
“My music speaks about me being a Christian woman. I write about my experiences and generally what is happening around the world.”
Her latest album has 13 songs, with her favourite songs being track 3 ‘Dibi tsa hao’ which is about a person that sinned, killed innocent people, raped and it is now time to repent and go back to God.
Track 7 ‘Theola moya’ is directed to the youth and substance abuse.
Overall the biggest message in the entire album is to repent.
Dorcas advises people to stop using drugs as it won’t bear them any good.
“Remember that your body is your temple therefore you must take care of it.”
On March 10 the artist hosted the ‘Emalahleni Praise Concert’ at Klarinet Hall.
This was a HIV/AIDS and stop human trafficking awareness gospel show.
The event had 33 artists who were coming from different places.
“Thank you to the community of Emalahleni for their overwhelming support on my first event. The hall was full. I appreciate it.”
Dorcas is a mother of six (four girls and two boys), along her career she adopted a lady who has two children.
Cindy (daughter) who is a backing vocalist and Dorcas’s manager is very proud of her mother.
“I thank God for the talent that He gave to her. I love her dearly because she is a hard worker and I thank God for her everyday.”
Dorcas could not help but smile when she heard the beautiful remarks from her daughter’s mouth.

“I thank God for my life and talent, I pray that He continues to protect, guide and bless me on my journey.”
Her next performance is scheduled for April 28 with Sipho Malope at Jane Furse, on the same day she will be singing at Tzaneen as well.
