[Watch] eMalahleni Bentley raid: Omar’s Motor Den owner slams ‘sloppy’ SIU work
In an exclusive interview, Yusuf Omar denies any shady deals after dramatic footage emerged of authorities targeting his eMalahleni dealership over hospital corruption.
The owner of Omar’s Motor Den has hit back at the Special Investigating Unit (SIU), claiming he is being wrongfully targeted. It follows a high-profile raid at his eMalahleni premises, where investigators attempted to seize a R3 million luxury vehicle linked to the Tembisa Hospital procurement scandal.
Videos showing the SIU pouncing on the dealership went viral and are still trending on social media platforms. They show Omar being escorted to a police vehicle, but he maintains that he was not formally charged.

The SIU’s spokesperson, Selby Makgotho, said they had an order to take possession of a Bentley, allegedly involved in the tender irregularities. He added the dealership was also prohibited from moving or selling the luxury vehicle.
Omar said the dealership bought that Bentley from DriveTime Auto in Johannesburg for R3m. He said they provided authorities with documentation to prove the vehicle was purchased lawfully.
‘We had a Bentley on the floor and sold it in December. The new owner later traded it in, and the vehicle was resold to another buyer,’ Omar explained.

The SIU, in a press release, said the investigation found that the vehicle, a restrained asset under a preservation order from September 29 last year, has been transferred multiple times over the years.
“LSM Distributors initially moved it to the MHR Maumela Family Trust around 2018/2019. DriveTime Auto CC bought it on September 23, 2022, with another transfer on October 31, 2025. Omar’s Moto r Den then acquired it on October 31, 2025, before transferring it to Khonile Trading Enterprise CC on February 12, 2026,” the SIU’s investigation revealed.
In response to all the allegations, Omar said that the dealership does not sell any vehicles on consignment and maintains that all their transactions and business practices are fair and above board.
