Everyone is feeling how hard the economy has become on their bank accounts, for some the only way out is to rob a couple of businesses to get by.
The most recent incident took place on Friday, May 4 at 11:50 in Van Rensburg Street in Klipfontein.
The shop owner alleged that he was inside his shop busy with his duties when a customer approached him and asked if he could buy two cigarettes. He sold the cigarettes to the customer and he walked away from the shop.
The shop owner went outside and then went back into the shop when another unknown man and a woman entered the shop as well.
While inside the shop, the shop owner recalls how the male suspect withdrew a firearm.
The suspect demanded that the shop owner open up the till; while the till was open the woman started taking the cash and the cigarettes.
As the shop owner could do nothing, he just looked on and watched how the man started loading all the alcohol.

The suspects walked away as if nothing had happened in the shop, the shop owner recalls that the suspects were wearing gloves and no shots were fired.
The second business robbery occurred between Thursday, May 3 at 17:15 and Friday, May 4 at 00:15 at Highland Mews.
The security guard alleges that he was patrolling the passages with another security guard.
That is when they came across three unknown suspects that were armed with firearms and a crow bar.
As the suspects withdrew their firearms, the security guards knew they could not do anything.
Their hands and legs were tired up together and they were placed inside a lift and they had no way of warning the other security guards inside the centre.
A jewellery shop inside Highland Mews was robbed of an undisclosed amount of items.
The suspects then tied up the other three security guards, also taking their cell phones and a laptop.
As the security guards sat there unable to do anything, they watched on how the suspects removed the front window of the jewellery shop.
The suspects took an undisclosed amount of jewellery and cell phones.
In a separate incident on Wednesday, May 2 at 09:00 Ms Simphiwe Ntsimande alleged that when she was working, everything was calm.
She was helping a client who was seated in front of her, when she noticed another client approach her asking about a loan.
Ntsimande then started explaining to him what paper work he needed to apply for a loan.
After a couple of minutes he left, then he returned a few hours later this time there were three people with him.
As Ntsimande sat in her chair she recalls one of the suspects standing at the door, they were all armed with firearms.
The suspects demanded money, she then showed them the cash box and they took all the money.
A large sum of money was taken by the three suspects; the suspects are unknown to Ntsimande.
