R64 700 in cash and valuables stolen in four cases of robberies

A business robbery was reported on Tuesday, May 15 at about 21:00 at Ferrobank.

Ten truck tyres were stolen and they were valued at R20 000. It was reported the complainant was on duty with his colleagues when four suspects approached them. Two of them had arms, tied them with shoe laces and robbed them of the tyres. The victims did not see as to how the suspects fled the scene.

Again another business robbery was reported at Cashbuild Hardware at KG Mall. The robbery was on Friday, May 18 at about 02:00. The complainant reported to the police that he was with his two colleagues on duty as security guards doing foot patrols at the back of Cashbuild building. They were approached by eight suspects coming from different directions, half of the suspects had firearms and they forced them to walk to Coastas.

Upon arrival they were all tied with shoe laces, three of the suspects remained to guard them while the other robbed the shop. The suspects broke into the shop, they took a computer set and loaded it into a wheel barrow and they left. Later the victims managed to free themselves.

Suspects were all over the area as they robbed another business at Clewer on Friday, May 18 at about 01:19.
Clewer Siding at Ferrom Street was robbed. A 34 year-old complainant reported that he was threatened with a dangerous weapon when tyres were stolen from the business. The value of all the tyres stolen is R19 000.

The owner said he was asleep at his house when he received a call from the site manager telling him that there was a robbery at the railway line siding. He asked the guards and they told him that they were attacked by a group of suspects who were armed with dangerous weapons. The security guards were inside the guard room when the suspects came and tied them with shoe laces, then took the tyres and fled the scene. The guards were seriously injured and taken to hospital.

A business robbery took place at Hlalanikahle on Friday, May 18 at about 08:30 when a 24 year-old shopkeeper became a victim. The victim told the police that he was at his shop busy selling when two suspects entered inside the shop and one suspect threatened him with a knife. They then took a cash amount of R700 and fled the scene.

In all the cases no one has been arrested and police are investigating.
