After a meeting with the Emalahleni Local Municipality they have undertaken to come up with ways to deal with the double accounts this month.
“We will only be cutting electricity to residents who are really in arrears with their accounts. Those who are worried that their accounts will be cut because they did not pay their second account yet, must not worry. We are looking at the matter urgently,” said the chief financial officer Jabulile Hlatshwayo.
Witbank News had a meeting with Hlatshwayo and her team this morning to address the municipal account chaos.
Residents have flooded social media with complaints after they have received two accounts only a few days apart.
WITBANK NEWS has given the municipality until next week to furnish with answers regarding the Phoenix billing system and other queries.
