Vosman police had a successful operation when they took to the streets of their policing area.

The police were joined by members of Community Policing Forum (CPF) and they were under the leadership of Col Renette Swart and Lt Col Andries Shabalala. They indentify spots and patrol around all sections and they manage to arrest people under the influence of alcohol. Those arrested includes 17 people for drinking in public, illegal immigrants, possession of dagga, malicious damage to property, house-breaking, theft and attempted murder among others.

Police are also looking for a tall, dark in complexion male that has been indentified as a robber around the Clewer area. Police are requesting any person who has been robbed by the male fitting this description to contact them. They must call Lt Col Andries Shabalala at 013 659 8400/32.

Police are appealing to the community and lawful owners of lost property to come and identify their properties. They should often visit Vosman SAPS, SAP 13 office to check if the police had find something in their stolen or lost properties.

Vosman also had convictions from the past weeks. On Monday, July 2, 22 year-old Siphelele Mntuyedwa was found guilty of assault GBH and was convicted for two years and suspended for five years. On the same day, Bongani Nhlengethwa (29) paid R500 as an admission of guilt after he was convicted for assault GBH. Jacob Brutus Shabangu (26) was cautioned and discharged for possession of dagga on Wednesday, June 13. Dan Mtshali (44) paid R500 as an admission of guilt after he was found with dagga, while 44 year-old Orlando Farook Mahlati was convicted for fraud and was fined R1 500 or three months imprisonment and suspended for three years.

Police also urged community members to be on the alert at the Masakane Garage in Extension 5 because there are no cameras. Many cases of robbery have been reported from the area and there are scams reported as well.
