The social department of Dr George Mukhari Academic Hospital are appealing for the family or relatives of Mr Menzi Johannes Mtetwa (Skhosana).

The patient with I.D. Number 6808055337083, was admitted in ward 8 at Dr George Mukhari Academic Hospital on June 29 at 1:40 this year. The clinical file of the patient stated that he was brought to hospital by paramedics.

The patient was found by the community at Wonder Park where it is alleged that he was found after collapsing on the street. On admission the patient was diagnosed with acute complete stroke. He is unable to communicate and has a slurred speech. Due to his mental state, an interview with him was not conducted.

The patient was referred to an occupational therapist, physiotherapist and speech therapist for rehabilitation. He is undergoing routine medical assessment. The recovery process is gradually improving, but he is in an acute confusional state.

The social worker liaised with the Home Affairs Department in Ga-Rankuwa about the patient’s identity document. The database indicated that the patient’s physical address is: Number 130 Canbre Place, Magalieskruin, Pretoria. The social worker has also liaised with Sinoville SAPS and area social workers at CMR in Wonderboom telephonically.

They confirmed that Magalieskruin is in their area and both SAPS and area social workers conducted visits at Magalieskruin, but the occupants of the house are white people and the patient is unknown to them. Magalieskruin is a suburb in Pretoria.

In August the patient mentioned that he originates from Kwaggafontein Number 1 and was employed at a construction company. The hospital’s social worker found the card inside the patient’s kit with the following details: The name of the sub-contractor is AVS Building.

The manager of the subcontractor is Mr Johan Lamprecht. Due to his medical and mental state, the patient would need constant emotional support and palliative care upon his discharge. We therefore would like to unite him with his family.

On August 22 the hospital’s social worker liaised with Sinoville SAPS in Pretoria telephonically. The information was that the patient was a witness to the case of common robbery in 2006. The physical address in the docket is House number 1085, Hlalanikahle in eMalahleni.

The social worker requested the police at Vosman Police Station on August 23 to trace the address, but the respond was that at Hlalanikahle there are Extensions 1, 2, 3 and informal settlements, therefore it is very complex to trace the number.

We have also published the patient in the media, but nobody came to trace him in the hospital. The general surgeons intend to amputate his leg and need the patient’s family to sign the consent or permission to operate on him.
