Trucks collided, sending a driver to emergency room

The truck driver from the one truck sustained serious injuries as two trucks collided into one another on a highway.

On Tuesday evening, September 18 on the N12 highway debris was scattered all over the road.
Two trucks travelling towards the N4 toll gate from Johannesburg were involved in an accident.

Mr Simon Khulu was travelling in the white Volvo truck and in front of him was a coal truck.
The driver of the coal truck alleged that he was travelling slowly up the hill on the N12 highway when he was bumped from the back.

Khulu was bleeding profusely as he sat inside the cab of his truck waiting for help to arrive.
Emergency personnel arrived on scene and they started helping Khulu inside the cab before he was taken out.

He had lots of cuts on his face and forehead and was taken to Life Cosmos Hospital were he was treated.
In a separate incident that occurred on Friday, September 21 on the N12 highway at 21:50, the driver of a vehicle was killed.

It is alleged that a white Toyota Condor was involved in an accident and when the police officer did their observation on the vehicle, the rear tyre had come off the rim, causing the vehicle to overturn.

Mr Simon Khulu being treated by Fransouis Jonker, a paramedic from Legacy Emergency Specialists.

It seems that the driver of the vehicle who was confused at that stage got out of the wreckage and started walking to the other side of the road.

While doing so, a truck came past and hit him, killing him instantly.
The truck did not stop and all the other passengers in the Condor were taken to hospital.

The driver is unknown as there was nothing on the scene that belonged to him to identify him with.
