Indigents are invited to register

Households considered to fall under the indigent category, have been urged to register so that they can receive basic services. They can do this with the help of their ward councilors.

Members of the community are informed of the indigent registration or renewal period, which commenced on October 1 until February 8.
The following documents required for registration or renewal purpose are: a certified ID copy, municipal accounts for proof of residence, a certified SASSA card copy and a payslip or three months bank statements and affidavit.

“The registration program aims at providing basic services to indigent households and the city would like to fast track and conclude this process so as to ensure that indigent households have access to basic services,” said municipal spokesperson Mr Kingdom Mabuza.

Cllr Dirk Grobler, Democratic Alliance councillor from Ga-Nala said residents can contact him for indigent forms.

“We will gladly assist residents who qualify to fill in the correct forms,” he said.
