“By this time, the armed police kicked the kitchen door down and immediately barged into my gran’s room, immediately pointed guns at us and searched the whole house. They later said that they are looking for Vusi and kept on asking ‘where is Vusi?’. We told them that no one by that name stays here,” the victim continued. “We told them that a person with a similar name stays across the road and the officers went there, but two stayed behind with us. We asked them who accompanied the police to this house and they said they do not have answers to our questions. The group of police did not have any warrant for a search or a warrant of arrest to show us.”
The complainant further said that when the officers came back from across the road, they got into their vehicles, a printed Volkswagen Crafter, a double cab van and a single cab van which was not printed on.
“When we asked about the damage, a man replied that they are in a rush so we must do whatever suits us and they left. We feel that our rights have been violated,” he added.
