Mr Johan Enslin is a man on a mission. He is trying to find out who took his car and dropped it off at the police station and why.
Enslin said he returned from Ga-Nala on Sunday, October 28 and just before eMalahleni the strangest thing happened.
“I was about to stop at the four way stop on the Kriel Bethal road as there were two heavy vehicles in front of me. Suddenly a car swerved in front of me and squeezed between the vehicle I was driving and the heavy vehicle. I had to slam on brakes hard to avoid an accident,” he said.
Suddenly the driver of the vehicle that squeezed in front of him apparently got out of his car, pushed his hand through Enslin’s car window and took his keys out of the ignition.
“The driver said I am not allowed to drive because I was driving recklessly. I told him that I had to slam on brakes because he pushed in, in front of me. He in turn said we must go to the police station.”
Enslin said he was told to get into another vehicle that had stopped behind him.

“I got into the vehicle with the two men and the passenger of the first car got into my car and I was under the impression that we were now going to the police station.”
However Enslin was dropped off a bit further in Watermeyer Street and told to walk to the police station.
When he eventually got to the police station no one knew anything about the car.
Later that evening Enslin got a call that the car was indeed at the police station.

Mr Johan Enslin wants answers after his car was taken from him and dropped at the police station.
“The police have no answers for me. Now no one knows who dropped my car off. But now the real issues start because now I have to proof that this car indeed is ours. The police now said I am in trouble because I opened a hijacking case. But I was hijacked. I did not ask the guy to drive my car to the police station. In fact he stole my car. I want answers and I want the police to explain to me how someone can just drop off a car at the police station, hand in the keys and go without explaining,” Enslin said.
Police spokesperson, Capt Eddie Hall said people should not just except that someone is a police official.
“Ask for identification which the police officer must produce. No member of the public is allowed to take your vehicle from you for what so ever reason. There can be serious consequences for such actions.”
