Most of the accidents occur near the Command Park, where over ten trucking companies are based.
The Command Park owners decided to construct the intersection in Ducha near Liketh.
Since the farm land was rezoned into a business area, there was no provision made for trucks to smoothly access the main road and because of lack of road signs many deadly accidents occurred.
Emalahleni Executive Mayor, Linah Malatjie and Cogta MEC Speedy Mashilo, visited the notorious intersection where they were shown plans of upgrading the site.

Malatjie was relieved that the upgrading of the site will save many lives. She also advised business people in construction and other sectors to prioritise job creation.
“We must always aim to create jobs for local residents; no project is too small for not creating jobs. The few jobs here can help many families to have a meal before they go to bed,” she pleaded.
The construction will take two months and twenty people have been temporarily employed.
Businesswoman Ms Mary Phadi said the Command Park owners have many projects on the pipeline to create jobs.
“The reason we have committed is because of high level of traffic and the difficulty we experience when we want to turn into the offices,” said Ms Phadi.
