HGH teacher honored for exceptional contribution to the community

Tutors are experienced and passionate teachers from HGH and other schools from eMalahleni

Hoërskool Generaal Hertzog has been hosting the University of the Free State’s Advanced Certificate in Teaching (ACT) course for the last four years.

This is a two year course and provides opportunity for teachers who need an additional qualification for further studies in education.

Teachers may specialize in Foundation Phase, Intermediate Phase, Senior Phase and Further Education and Training Phase (FET).

Students who have enrolled attend classes at HGH on specified Saturdays and during school holidays.

Tutors are experienced and passionate teachers from HGH and other schools from eMalahleni.

The person responsible for the success of this UFS endeavor in eMalahleni is Hertzog teacher Thea de Jager.

Thea received an Honorary Award for Service to the Community.

This was awarded to Thea by Prof. Daniella Coetzee-Manning for

“The exceptional contribution made to enhancing the lives of others through facilitating modules in the Advanced Certificate in Teaching (ACT) program”.
