Witbank Dam level starting to drop

Witbank Dam dropped from 87.4% to 86.6%.

As we are already in the dry winter season with little prospects of rain in the Mpumalanga Province, the Department of Water and Sanitation emphasizes the importance of water conservation and the use of the available water sparingly taking into consideration that South Africa is a water scarce country.

Water levels in the Mpumalanga Province continue to decline.

According to the Department of Water and Sanitation weekly state of reservoirs report of May 20, Mpumalanga recorded a 2% drop in average dam levels from last week’s 74.2% to 71.8%.

Witbank Dam dropped from 87.4% to 86.6%.
