Mpapo Academy has received a major boost from an organisation that donated funds towards the purchase of much-needed equipment.

The official handover of the items purchased with the donation took place at Mabande Comprehensive High School on August 28.

The equipment includes Lenovo laptops, Creality K1-C Series 3D printers, an Epson L3111 printer and filaments.

Tools for future skills

“These are not simply pieces of equipment to us; they are valuable tools that will create opportunities for our learners to develop digital, technological and practical skills that can prepare them for the future,” said the academy’s founder, Aubrey Mngomezulu. “We are sincerely grateful for this financial contribution and acknowledge the trust and support that the company has placed in Mpapo Academy and the work we do in our community.”

Expanding access to technology

Mngomezulu said the donation came at an important stage in the academy’s growth.

The organisation supports young people through education, computer literacy, 3D printing, entrepreneurship, career development and other youth-development programmes.

“For many of the young people we serve, opportunities to access computers, 3D printing technology and other modern learning resources are limited, so this donation will therefore have an impact far beyond the equipment itself,” he said. “It will help us expose learners to technology, encourage innovation and creativity, develop new skills and give young people greater confidence about what they can achieve.”
