Little Blessings enjoy sprayathon
Chas Everitt sponsored the children with party packs to enjoy after school
Children at Little Blessings Child Care got their hair sprayed during a sprayathon that was held at the pre-school.
The sprayathon by Cansa Highveld and sponsored by Harvey Nortje Wagner and Motimele Attorneys, and Chas Everitt took place at the pre-school on Thursday morning, June 13.
The initiative was to raise cancer awareness and honour the five-year-old Shanaya Govender, who was affectionately known as “Shanaya The First” from Johannesburg who died of cancer in May.
“We as the oldest firm in Witbank, we believe that to be able to give back to the community is a privilege,” said director of Harvey Nortje Wagner and Motimele Attorneys Leandra Naidoo.
She added that awareness needs to be raised that anyone can get cancer.
“Anyone can be diagnosed with cancer, it does not choose age, colour or race. It affects everyone.”
“The name of the school was apt ‘Little Blessings’ as that is what all children are and with Youth Day upon us any opportunity to create awareness and bring smiles to the faces of children could not be surpassed”, Naidoo added on Thursday.
Cansa mascot Tok Tokkie gave the children a little talk about smart choices and healthy eating to be healthy children.
Little Blessings’ teacher, Asma Essack said that the visit from Cansa and the two companies was a great initiative.
“It was a great Youth Day celebration and to raise cancer awareness. The children had their hair sprayed and had so much fun.”
Cansa Highveld manager Andries Du Preez said that they are happy that Harvey Nortje Wagner and Motimele Attorneys and Chas Everrit has partnered with them and wish to keep the relationship for longer.
