Mr Themba Temane had his vehicle burned at Uthingo Park

Cars and buildings including offices have been burned in the past

It was reported in the Witbank News about the problems between some residents of Uthingo Parks and Emalahleni Housing Company (EHC), the problems has been going on for a long time now.

Cars and buildings including offices have been burned in the past.

As recent as in June 11 the residents of Uthingo Park were on the streets marching saying that they will not stop until their demands are heard and met by the municipality.

They handed in a memorandum to the municipality.

The residents of Uthingo Park want to be under the management of the municipality not under Emalahleni Housing Company (EHC).

They want their grievances to be addressed by the president of the country.

Whether the car belonging to Mr Themba Temane has anything to do with the protest or not it is very hard to tell.

His car was burned on June 29 at about 02:00 by unknown people.

“I wake up to find my car burning and there was nothing I could do to save it. My DST dish, the house curtains and my tool box with tools worth more than R100 00 were burned as well, some of the tools which burned were a ground earth test (worth about R77 000) and a multi meter (worth about R10 000). We manage to put out the fire with a help of the neighbours,” said Mr Temane.

Mr Temane is self employed and he keeps his tools in his car.

He said the car value was about R120 000 and the case was reported to the police.
