Spare wheels are stored within the car to avoid being stranded by the roadside with a burst tyre.
All of that has changed for Mr Lourens Redelinghuys after he realised his spare wheel was stolen.
The spare wheel was stolen on Friday, July 12 around 16:15 at his home in Model Park.
“I was working from home on Friday and I heard noises from outside thinking it is just people coming back from work. Around 16:15, I looked outside to see where the noise was coming from and saw two guys, one under my car taking out the spare wheel and the other looked like he was looking out for the one taking out the car,” Mr Redelinghuys explained.
He reported the theft to the police station on Sunday, July 14 and he said that he could be able to identify the suspects.
Fortunately, his car was not broken or badly tampered with.
He said the suspects only broke the spare wheel locker when they stole the wheel under the car.
