Soirée learn to capture ten thousand words in the blink of a moment

Charlaine again emphasised the importance of knowing the basics of photography

Fine art photographer, Charlaine Gerber, visited the woman’s agricultural union – Soirée branch last week.

Since Charlaine took up photography in 2013 she has been widely published and has received numerous accolades both nationally and internationally.

“Photography is subjective,” she said from the get go as she gave her presentation on Wednesday, July 17.

Charlaine again emphasised the importance of knowing the basics of photography.

She touched on the rules of thirds, lead-in lines, contrasting colours and the importance of where to place your object.

“People prefer odd numbers, so if you place objects, try and make it three, five or even seven. It gives another feeling to the photo.” Charlaine also said a photo should have impact.

Armed with all the knowledge the Soirée branch is excited about the upcoming photo competition they will be entering soon.
