Deep hole allegedly left opened by municipal workers

The hole has been left open after it was barricaded at first but now the tape has been removed

Residents of Zone 14 in KwaGuqa Extensions are concerned about a deep hole that was left opened allegedly by municipal workers.

According to the residents the workers were cleaning drains in the streets in the area on Saturday, August 10 and came back to finish up the cleaning on Monday, August 12.

After cleaning the drain the workers left the deep hole.

The hole has been left open after it was barricaded at first but now the tape has been removed.

“This hole is not posing a danger to only children but to adults as well, since it is very deep. One of the municipal workers advised us to phone to let them know about the hole and to raise our concerns. Nothing has come out after we phoned, they came and check the hole and left. Children has been chased several times playing near the hole,” said one of the community members.

The hole is at corner Kome and Isambane Streets at Zone 14.

A questionnaire was sent to Mr Lebo Mofokeng for a respond, but nothing was received.
