Sheena to shine in New York City

The International Arts and Showcase has been scouting a lot of young and talented faces around the world.

In eMalahleni, Sheena Mabena was scouted and is heading to New York City to perform at the International Modelling and Talent Association (IMTA).

The 32-year-old is very excited to be part of this opportunity to showcase her acting talent.

As a young girl, Sheena used to participate in school plays.

Her acting passion has always been with her even after becoming a certified Clinical Psychologist.

On her spare time after work, she takes part in acting courses to polish her talent.

Sheena got the opportunity to audition for International Arts and Showcase that was held at Krugersdorp in September 2019.

Now, Sheena is set to perform in New York in July from 18 to 23.

She explained how she was scouted: “During my acting courses, I met Elsubie Verlinden from 33 and Me Talent Agency and Elouise Janse van Rensburg from Applause Rising Talent Showcase (ARTS) and I got a chance to perform at the showcase in Krugersdorp,” Sheena said.

Sheena did so well at the showcase and was called back for an invitation to the five days showcase in New York.

“I am very excited about this opportunity and it means a lot to me to showcase my talent on a bigger stage. I am also excited about the training, experience, exposure and the ability to bring some knowledge back home,” Sheena said.

She also added: “I am also excited to know more about the works of the acting industry.”

Sheena highlighted that she is not limiting herself to pursue another dream.

“It is never too late to work towards all your dreams.”

Sheena’s family is supportive of her.

“My family is very supportive on my trip to New York especially financially. I am needed to pay for my flight tickets to and from New York, accommodation, food and two other showcases. It is a lot of money that I need to raise and also planning but sacrifices need to be made.”

Sheena said that she will not miss this opportunity of a lifetime.
