A great farewell to Dr Hlongwane
Dr Hlongwane served as a clinical manager and as an acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the hospital for about 20 months
Dr Joe Hlongwane bid his farewell to Witbank Hospital as he retires from work.
The hospital’s staff and management organised a farewell celebration to honour him.
The celebration took place on Friday, February 7, at the hospital.
Dr Hlongwane was appreciated through words and actions. He served at Witbank Hospital for about 16 years and now believes it is his time to close the chapter and open a new one as he pursues ministry.
Dr Hlongwane served as a clinical manager and as an acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the hospital for about 20 months.
The new acting CEO, Mrs Zale Madonsela, forwarded a message to Dr Hlongwane during the celebration.
“We appreciate you Dr Hlongwane for your dedication, commitment to the hospital and your contribution to the health of South Africa as a whole. We will miss you so much.”
She added: “The staff of Witbank Hospital should continue and carry Dr Hlongwane’s legacy to make the hospital a greater institution that can compete with other medical institutes in the region,” as an encouragement to the staff of the hospital.
Dr Hlongwane’s words of parting included thanksgiving towards the staff for welcoming him when he got deployed to the hospital in 2004.
“Thank you for being the people I could rely on and made my work so easy.”
“May you continue the journey because everyone here is called to work at this hospital. I wish everyone all the best and hope that God will be with you all and show His grace upon you.”
Dr Hlongwane was blessed through prayer for the new journey of ministry he is starting.
