Arrested for perjury

The generator was kept in storage by the friend

Perjury can get you in a lot of trouble even arrested.

Perjury is the offence of wilfully telling an untruth or making a misrepresentation under oath.

It is alleged that on January 18 the victim was told by his friend that his generator was stolen.

The generator was kept in storage by the friend.

It is alleged that in early February further investigation showed that the generator was never stolen, it was sold at a local pawn shop and then reported stolen.

CCTV-footage showed what happened and when the friend confessed that he is the one that sold the generator that was reported stolen.

The friend was arrested for theft.
