COVID-19 screening is done in eMalahleni

The screening drive is in line with President Cyril Ramaphosa’s address about steps being taken to contain the spread of the virus.

The screening drive is in line with President Cyril Ramaphosa’s address about steps being taken to contain the spread of the virus.

“In the coming days, the government will be rolling out a screening, testing, tracing and medical management programme on a huge scale,” said Ramaphosa.

Around 10 000 field workers will be visiting homes in villages, towns and cities to screen residents for COVID-19 symptoms.

Municipal spokesperson, Mr Lebo Mofokeng called on all residents to give their full co-operation during the screening period.

eMalahleni screening will be done until April 19.

The following areas in Emalahleni Local Municipality have been identified for screening:
Ackerville: Ward 10 around Stadium and eBhudzini
Klarinet Ward 15
Extension 3B
Tasbet Park
Ward 21: South View
Ward 19: Duvha and Tasbet Park 1
Lynnville: Ward 16 and 17
Ward 15: Old Coronation
Extension 5: Ward 5
Hlalanikahle: Ward 2 and 4
Thubelihle: Ward 25
Enkanini
Kriel town: Ward 26
Rietspruit: Ward 32
Hostel
Empumelelweni: Ward 23
Phola: Wards 28 & 30
Enkanini and Vezi
