Clean water goes to waste in Paul Sauer Street

Officials from the municipality have not yet attended to the sewerage spill in Paul Sauer Street.

Sewages and water pipes in Paul Sauer Street have been reported leaking many times and this time is no different.

On Tuesday, June 9, WITBANK NEWS reported to a leakage close to the Paul Sauer Substation. What seemed like trenches developed, clean water ran in one and the other was the sewage water.

Mr Paul Ackerman who resides close to the leakages alleged that someone came and grated the grass and soil on Sunday, June 7. “The sewage started leaking on Monday. I called the Emalahleni Local Municipality (ELM) to alert them about the leakage.”

ELM communications officer Mr Lebo Mofokeng told WITBANK NEWS that the matter will be forwarded to the team.

Since then officials from the municipality have not yet attended to the matter.
