(Video) ANC Youth League wants to shut down all of eMalahleni’s Pick n Pay branches
It is further alleged by the EFF and ANCYL that the two women were held in a walk-in freezer for an unknown time

In a statement issued by the ANC Youth League (ANCYL), Nkangala Region they will embark on a programme of shutting down all Pick n Pay shops around eMalahleni.
“All the shops will be shut down on September 18, as a response to the sheer arrogance displayed by Pick n Pay on social media, refuting the brutal murdering of Ntombifuthi Zitha,” reads the statement.
The protest action is the result of an incident where two female customers were arrested recently for alleged shoplifting by security personnel working at Pick n Pay Hypermarket.
It is further alleged by the EFF and ANCYL that the two women were held in a walk-in freezer for an unknown time.
One woman was allegedly later charged for shoplifting but, according to the EFF, who started the action on Wednesday, September 16, the second lady passed away due to being kept in the freezer.
SAPS Provincial Spokesperson, Brig Leonard Hlathi urges people to be vigilant and careful and avoid the shops where protests are happening.
“We are monitoring the situation,” he said.
This is an unfolding story, and we will update our readers as soon as more information is made available.
