Police seize suspected stolen diesel in eMalahleni
Police arrested two men after spotting a speeding Mahindra bakkie running a red light during a late-night patrol.

Two men, aged 35 and 41, have been arrested in eMalahleni after police discovered 1 200 litres of suspected stolen diesel in their vehicle.
The incident occurredon Mandela Street on August 14 at around 21:20, when members of the Anti-Hijacking Task Team, Middelburg Flying Squad and Middelburg K9 Unit noticed a white Mahindra bakkie speeding and driving through a red traffic light. Officers stopped the vehicle and, upon searching it, found 48 containers, each carrying 25 litres of diesel.
According to the police, the total haul is valued at approximately R30 000.
Vehicle seized and suspects detained
Police confirmed that the suspects failed to provide valid documentation or a reasonable explanation for the diesel. They were immediately arrested and taken to Witbank SAPS, while the Mahindra bakkie was also seized.
Police further confirmed that investigations are ongoing and further charges may be added. The suspects are expected to appear in the eMalahleni Magistrate’s Court soon.
