The cashier just stood behind the counter when the suspect instructed him to open up the till

Suspects robbed a petrol station, but first put petrol into their vehicle before they fled the scene.

The incident happened on Thursday, November 19 at approximately 20:30 on the corner of Mandela and Jellicoe Street.

The complainant alleged that he was on duty as a cashier for the night when he was approached by two armed men who entered; one was armed with a firearm.

The cashier just stood behind the counter when the suspect instructed him to open up the till.

Fearing for his life, the cashier opened up the till; the till had an undisclosed amount of cash inside it at the time and the suspects took the cash.

There were two other suspects allegedly waiting outside in a black Volkswagen Golf 5 GTI.

It is alleged that the suspects ran out of the shop with the cash.

Four suspects sat inside the vehicle and first put in R200 of petrol before they fled the scene.
