Times are tough, the tough join hands to bring hope and smiles.

Adults Protecting Children (APC) a local NPO took hands with various organisations such as NeuroEduCare Family Centre, the South African Mediation Centre and compassionate community members to bring smiles to 22 little faces just before Christmas.

A lovely day was held for the children on Saturday, December 12 at the Home of Hope.

Home of Hope place of safety for orphans was pleasantly surprised when little Santa showed up in a fire truck.

The fun-filled day included a water slide and jumping castle, topped with a delicious lunch, lots of snacks, gifts and ice cream directly from the truck.

The children ensured that the adults released their inner child by setting a splashing example. As the day of fun progressed the children’s home received numerous essential donations including tutoring and counselling vouchers from NeuroEduCare to assist the children during 2021.

All the visitors were impressed by the children’s excellent manners and discipline which is a testimony to the care and hard work of their housemother, Ms Maya Elkins. An atmosphere of family and love is evident at this children’s home.

“We wish to thank all the community donors and Pick n Pay River Crescent who helped us make this wonderful day possible. Special thanks go out to Ms Louisa Loots and Ms Mariaan de Beer for cooking up a storm, Ms Herolize Loots for the slides and entertainment, Ms Chantel Marè and her team from NeuroEduCare, Mr Jacques Wagner Chairman of APC (NPO) and his team. Ms Gerda Chittenden and Mr Zane Hassell,” said Jacques.

We all hope that this example of ordinary people coming together inspires you to make a difference despite everyday challenges.

If you would like to join hands with APC or network on a community project, please contact Jacques on 082 576 2070 or wellness@neuroeducare.co.za, together we can, be the difference.
