Witbank Rugby Club ready to kick off

Witbank Rugby Club excited about hitting the ground running in some friendly games before the season starts.

Witbank Rugby Club is excited to kick off the new rugby season after a long break due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

They hosted trails on Monday, April 12, and Tuesday, April 13.

Chairman of Witbank Rugby Club, Frik Visagie said: “The players are very excited to get back on the field and get physical, they are hungry to get back in action with the long delay we had due to the Covid-19 pandemic.”

The club is having trials to prepare them for some friendly matches before the season starts. The first friendly games will be played on Saturday, April 17. The u.21 team will face off against the Naka Bulls and the first and second-team will clash against Bronkhorstspruit Rugby Club. All three of these games will be played at Witbank High.

Their second friendly games will be played on Saturday, April 24. All three teams will feature against Potgietersrus Rugby Club in what will be a good preparation match for the upcoming season. They will be playing at Witbank High.

Please note that no spectators are allowed at the matches played due to Covid-19 protocols.
