Taxi drivers were rewarded for protecting businesses
After the prayer, they rewarded them with a certificate of appreciation and some scrumptious, mouthwatering cakes for being the heroes of eMalahleni
On Wednesday, July 21 Volle Evangelie Kerk van God felt a need to thank and appreciate the taxi drivers for the magnificent unforgettable work that they did in protecting Witbank shopping malls from being looted or vandalized.
Pastor Kenny Jansen van Rensburg along with his wife, Amelia and church members went to Highveld Mall at the taxi rank to pray and thank the taxi drivers for protecting Witbank economic hubs.
After the prayer, they rewarded them with a certificate of appreciation and some scrumptious, mouthwatering cakes for being the heroes of eMalahleni.
This comes after the taxi drivers have stood against looting and vandalism.
These taxi drivers have launched a campaign called #NO LOOTING IN EMALAHLENI, and they spent a week driving around all the malls in eMalahleni to ensure that no shops are victimized by lunatic looters.
The secretary of Lota Taxi Association, Vincent Shilongo said as taxi operators they feel blessed to see that community members are appreciating them.
He added that they will continue to protect these economic hubs because they rely on them to feed their families.
Shilongo concluded by urging people to report looting activities that they see because that’s the only way of protecting all the economic hubs of eMalahleni.

In the proceedings of handing over the cakes Pastor Jansen van Rensburg couldn’t stop acknowledging the taxi drivers for what they did for the people of eMalahleni.
He added that as the people of eMalahleni they don’t have enough words to thank the taxi drivers.
“As the residents of eMalahleni we are out of words of thanking you guys, you have protected so many peoples’ jobs. You guys have prevented evil spirits from destroying our beautiful city, therefore as the members of Volle Evangelie Kerk van God we won’t stop to appreciate and acknowledging you guys, you are our heroes,” said Pastor Kenny Jansen van Rensburg.
Pastor Kenny’s wife, Amelia said that as members of Volle Evangelie Kerk van God they respect and admire the taxi drivers for leaving their families just to protect eMalahleni malls and small shops from being victimized.
“We are here today to thank the taxi drivers and their association for keeping eMalahleni safe during the chaos that broke out in the previous weeks, where people were seen terrorizing the shopping malls. We are happy that here in eMalahleni we did not experience such things because our taxi drivers kept everything in order and we want to thank them with something special and nice to celebrate them (the taxi operators); as members of Volle Evangelie Kerk van God and eMalahleni residents, we are praying for these heroes daily, for God to protect them and keep them united for this beautiful city”.
The taxi drivers couldn’t stop to thank the Volle Evangelie Kerk van God members for acknowledging and recognizing them as vital citizens.
They even promised that they will keep on protecting not only the malls, but the community at large, because they are working for it; therefore it is also their responsibility to ensure that the community is safe at all times.
In the closing of the celebration the pastors’ couple gave gratitude to the people who took effort in helping them to bake the beautiful mouthwatering cakes.

The celebration of appreciation was closed with a blessed prayer by Pastor Kenny Jansen van Rensburg. Share your news tips via:
