Learners awarded for outstanding achievements

Kriel High School showed their commitment to learners when it awarded its top achievers recently.

Unathi Zikalala was awarded a trophy for versatility in culture.

The year is slowly but surely closing in on its final chapters.

Soon schools will be breaking up for the December holidays but not before outstanding achievements were recognised.

On Monday, October 25 Kriel High School had their prizegiving.

The awards were handed out with the aspiration that they would create meaningful moments of recognition that will inspire others and reinforce the behaviour that led to the reward.

Joy Jones is the sports girl of the year.

Arnoe Loggenberg was awarded the sports boy of the year trophy.

Kutlwano Zwane is the school’s jumper of the year. He improved from 112th place in grade 11 to 36th place in grade 12. He ‘jumped’ 76 places to earn this accolade.

Paballo Chake is the best academic achiever in grade 12.

Phumlani Sibanyoni is the most reliable person of the year and was awarded a trophy for this trait.

Phumlani Sibanyoni was awarded the governing body trophy for meritoriousness.
