School campaign aims to keep schools drug-free

Police want a drug-free society.

The officers at Phola Police Station added one more trip in their school campaign and Makause Combined School was their next stop.

The officers teamed up with other organisations to stop bullying and the use of drugs in schools.

This campaign came after school teachers contacted the police station on several accounts to report the issues of drugs and bullying.

On Tuesday, February 15 Phola Vispol Commander Captain Jan Kamfer and his team including the Vispol support commander, Sergeant Petros Ntuli and Sergeant Nonhlanhla Monama, conducted a school awareness campaign at the school, together with the Community Policing Forum (CPF), Community in Blue, Youth Desk and the Foundation for Victims of Crime (Fovoc).

The principal of the school, Mr Ntuli welcomed everyone and gave the platform to the police. The learners were taught about the dangers of bullying, carrying dangerous weapons, drugs at school and other related offences.
