Citylads defeated minutes before final whistle

This is how the match between Citylads and Secunda M Stars went down.

On a sunny day at Lynnville Stadium Witbank Citylads lost all three points in about 19 minutes before the final whistle after Bonga Puweni of Secunda M Stars scored a goal.

Citylads had hoped to hold Secunda M Stars to a draw on Saturday, March 12

Despite the outcome, this was a difficult victory to strip away from Citylads as they were eager and hungry for the win, which could have helped them to close the gap at the bottom of the ABC Motsepe A stream league.

This is how the match between Citylads and Secunda M Stars went down ‒ A goal scored by Citylads player Brandon Maseko in the first half of the match put Secunda M Stars under too much pressure, pushing them to make two substitutions after the goal.

The game was very incredibly challenging for both teams. Although the match was becoming more difficult by the second, Secunda M Stars managed to score a goal by Khawulani Zuma, bringing the score to 1-1 before halftime.

Due to the pressure that both teams were under in the second half of the match, many substitutions were made for both teams during the game.

Both teams continued to play hard until Secunda M Stars scored the game-winning goal, as the Citylads players were too focused on attacking and not enough on defending.

Citylads kept playing hard, hoping to equalize and take the one point, but they were unlucky.

Secunda M Stars won the match 2-1 which automatically made them the ABC Motsepe stream A champions. Their next game is on Saturday, March 19 against Gembok Classic.

After losing the game, Citylad’s chances in the league are undecided until their final match on Saturday, March 19 at Lynnville Stadium against Witbank Shepard.
