Patrice who is over 50-years-old managed to win the TinMan Triathlon, age is just a number
One of South Africa’s oldest draft legal Triathlon Series’, the TinMan Series was held in Johannesburg over the weekend.

Local athlete Patrice Gautier (53) finished in a time of 01:5:12 and averaged 22.72km/h, he was over the moon to end the race with the finish banner in his hands.
The series took place on Sunday, March 13 at Buffelspoort Dam.
It was a day for the whole family to get out and to take part in the Tri-Series.

The series that was started in 1999 has become very popular nationally and a household name to many athletes.
Patrice, who took part in the 1.2km swim, 30km cycle and 10km run, used this race as a dress rehearsal for his full IronMan participation.
“I had a good swim and then it was the transition onto my bicycle. I had a good cycle and then it was the run,” said Patrice.
Many athletes from eMalahleni will be taking part in the full IronMan and half IronMan on Sunday, April 3.
