‘Helping the Granny’ operation starts in Vosman to commemorate Human Rights Day

Two gogos residing in Vosman are smiling after they were treated with food parcels and a new layer of paint for their houses.
As part of the Human Rights Day Commemoration, the African Socio-Economic Transformation (Aset), Umfelandawonye and the African National Congress (ANC) Ward 09 in Vosman embarked on an operation called Nceda uGogo (helping the granny).
The program seeks to help the oldest grandmothers within the community of Ward 09 by painting their houses and presenting them with food parcels.
Gogo Malebetje Khoza, who turned 108 in January this year, received food parcels.

Gogo Khoza’s house is still under construction, but the organisations will return to paint the house where she lives with her daughter.
The second grandmother that was visited was Gogo Sarah Jiyane who is 84 years old.
Her house was neatly painted and she received food parcels as well.
Both grandmothers were identified through the Ward 09 community committee from their list of all the grandmothers in the ward.

JD Fuels sponsored the program by donating painting materials and food parcels. Gogo Khoza says that growing up was a blessing.
Only God knows the days of a human being on earth.
If you take care of yourself, you will live long.
She further said she give thanks to God a lot because He has the greatest power.
When she was sick she thought she was going to die, but God keep on waking her up and she really thank him for her life.
She also thanked Aset, Umfelandawonye, ANC Ward 09 branch and JD Fuels for everything. Mr Buhda Moloko, the National Chairperson of the African Socio-Economic Transformation says the Nceda uGogo program is part of their Human Rights Day commemoration.
Other programs will still come that will feature grandfathers as well.
Moloko also thanked JD Fuel for supporting and sponsoring them to make the operation successful.
