Phola SAPS reaches out to congregants in community
No matter the question, violence is not the answer.
Police from Phola, CPF, and the Community in Blue conducted a Domestic Violence and GBV awareness campaign at United Christian Church of Christ.
On Sunday, April 3, Phola SAPS Communications official, Sergeant Petros Ntuli led the campaign.
Pamphlets that gave more insight on domestic violence, GBV, and other sexual offences were distributed to the congregants on the day.
The police station tries, by all means, to engage with and encourage residents to live in a crimeless community.
The station commander at Phola Police Station, Lieutenant Colonel Nape Matlala said that there has been an escalation of GBV crimes in the community that is why they decided to reach out.
“We are planning to visit all the sectors of the community such as churches, taxi ranks, taverns, and wherever people congregate. Our first stop as at the Zulu Church and the United Christian Church of Christ. We plan to reach out to the whole community,” concluded Colonel Matlala.
