Kriel United takes home the Safa Nkangala A 2 stream
Kriel were hungry to win the game
Kriel United went on to win the stream with 18 games played; 11 wins, five draws, and two losses, with a total of 38 points, two points ahead of the Machidi Lions Brothers.
Kriel United completed the Nkangala Men’s Regional Soccer League with great honour, thanks to a goal from Kagiso Shongwe in the first half, which filled their team with excitement at the final whistle blow on Saturday, April 2 at Tshwane University of Technology Emalahleni campus.
The team scored three points that prompted them to win the South African Football Association (Safa) A 2 stream, 2021/2022 by a 1-0 score over TUT Emalahleni, which gives them a variety of chances if they keep working hard.

During the game, Kriel demonstrated that they were hungry for the win, as they had the game under control for most of the time.
However, their opponents were also looking forward to this game, and especially in the second half, both teams were quietly making great progress as they battled for a goal. With Kriel number 7 Kagiso Shongwe fighting for a second goal, in about 26 minutes left in the game, he made a great attempt.
TUT was looking for a goal to equalize in the final minutes before the final whistle, but they were unlucky.
The TUT captain gave his account of the game: Effort Phaahla stated that the game was difficult at first, but they tried to come back.
They didn’t create many chances, but “we will learn, that’s football; we learn every day,” he added.
The match was among the most challenging.
The Kriel captain also commented on how the game went.
Sphiwe Dube stated that the game had been tough, and taxing, and they had prepared for this game during the week, so the coaches had put in a lot of effort and work and it had been tense because their opponents also wanted the win.
Kriel coach Sifiso Dube said, “The team performed very well today; we had to be disciplined and compact because we knew we only need three points. Fortunately, we had a goal; we were up by one-nil, so we had to defend it and fight for it, and the boys did very well.”
Kriel is now expected to play preliminary playoffs.
