Tenders for fixing Blancheville Bridge is now open
Contact Cllr Maureen Scheepers for more details about tender documents.
On March 11, 2016, excessive rainfall was experienced resulting in flooding that further resulted in the collapsing of the bridge situated on Second Avenue in Blancheville.
In 2018 eMalahleni Municipality appointed service providers to fix the bridge but due to various challenges the project could not be completed leaving the community and business sector in the area in disarray.
About two weeks ago the municipality announced that they will again attempt to fix the bridge.
A meeting was held on April 20 where a steering committee was elected for the project.
With all the structures in place, the final tender advert has now been released for all the sub-contracted items of the project.
The closing date for submission of all quotes will be on May 3.
Submission can be done at the OK Grocer Centre in Gordon Road.
A box will be placed at the centre for all tender documents to be submitted.
For the full tender document please send a WhatsApp or SMS with the company email address to Ward 20 Cllr Maureen Scheepers at 082 565 6770 and the document will be e-mailed to the address supplied.
“Please keep in mind that Ward 20 residents and companies will receive preference for this project. For any information regarding the items that are up for subcontracting the community can also call me,” said Cllr Scheepers.
