Emalahleni Easter Challenge

The soccer tournament will proceed at Ackerville Grounds.

On a sunny day at Ackerville Grounds, on Friday, April 15 the 12th Emalahleni Easter Challenge rock and roll as people came in numbers to feature, as it was played as a group point system.

This tournament was schedule to take place from Friday, April 15 to Monday, April 18, but other games were postponed due to inclement weather.

These are the tournament highlights: Games were played on Friday in the first rounds of the tournament, with Emalahleni United winning 2-0 against Witbank PSG and taking the first three points in the tournament.

In the second game, Phuliqolo held Emalahleni FC to a 1-1 tie.

In the third game, the Morning Stars defeated Ezinambeni Academy 1-0.

Ezinambeni was unable to equalise in the second half as they came divinely looking for a goal and Morning Stars took the three points.

The final game of the first round of the tournament was between Stocko and Mission.

It was a goalless match, however it was very intriguing, and the Mission also missed a penalty in the second half, the match ended with a 0-0 score, with both teams receiving one point each.

Trevor Dube, the organiser of Emalahleni Easter Challenge said: “due to unpleasant weather, the games have been rescheduled for Sunday, May 1 and Monday, May 2 and will continue to be played on the Ackerville Grounds.”

These are the matches remaining that will be played on Sunday, May, 1: Group A Emalahleni United vs Phuliqolo and Emalahleni vs Witbank. In group B Morning Stars vs Stocko, Ezinambeni Academy vs Mission and Morning Stars vs Stocko.

The semi-finals and finals will be played on Monday, May 2.
