Major sentence for leaving an accident scene

The past weekend another hit-and-run was reported to Witbank Police Station as the increase of these cases is at a spike in eMalahleni.
On May 10, police were dispatched to an accident scene on Main Road in the Central Business District (CBD) at 18:30.
It alleged that only a body of a man was found on the scene, as it is believed he was driven over by a loading truck, which took off as the incident occurred.
“Road users should know the consequences they are facing if they leave an accident scene. Guilty parties will be charged according to the Road Traffic Act for leaving an accident scene. We urge the public to come forward if they see an occurrence like mentioned,” said the communication officer of Witbank Police Station, Capt Eddie Hall.
