Daughter raped – father behind bars

In the midst of Child Protection Week, a father is accused of raping his 17-year-old daughter.

Child protection week has commenced yet on a sad note. A 17-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her father.

The victim alleged that she arrived at her father’s house in Klipfontein on May 27.

The victim apparently started preparing food for both her and her father. At about 23:00, while they were watching TV, her father started sexually assaulting her. When she questioned her father, he allegedly threatened to kill her.

A case of rape was opened at the Witbank Police Station and the father was arrested that night.

Captain Eddie Hall, communications officer at the Witbank Police Station said this horrific incident has made the officers to realise that they need to protect children even more as they are vulnerable.

“As child protection week is approaching, we appeal to the public to protect our children, and not harm them. Our responsibility is to protect and serve children, but also to teach them,” added Captain Hall.
