Miss Kriel Teen 2022 is ready to make a difference in her community

The new queen believes that ‘girl power’ is the foundation of ‘women's empowerment

Awethu Maseko was crowned Miss Kriel Teen 2022.

She is flanked by Ambesiwe Makhwenkwe as the first runner-up and Miss Public Choice and Ondela Zazayokwe who was crowned as the second runner-up and Miss Personality. Emihle Khumalo was chosen as Miss Entrepreneur Rebirth.

The new queen believes that ‘girl power’ is the foundation of ‘women’s empowerment, and she went on to share her plans as the new queen. She said the difference she wants to make in the community is to encourage young girls to believe in themselves and push themselves out of their comfort zones.

“To bring the difference, I am prepared to set aside all my differences and by all means connect with them on a personal level,” Awethu added.

The other winners will be by the queen’s side to help her, as their first project will be on Mandela Day.

Sibonisile Mahlangu, the founder of Miss Kriel Teen, added that hosting such a beautiful event and continuing to make a difference in the life of a girl child is overwhelming, and it gives her courage and confidence to continue serving others.
