House fire shows no remorse to Klarinet mother and children

Neighbours and family are left with questions about how the fire started.

A 31-year-old mother, her four-year-old boy and her five-year-old daughter died when their house in Klarinet Extension 3 caught fire.

Neighbours gathered outside the house, dumbfounded, as there are no answers for the house fire on July 7.

The neighbours say that they heard the dogs barking late at night, when they checked, they saw flames engulfing the house.

“We went out and started calling the other neighbours to help put out the fire. When we got closer, most of the house was burnt,” said one of the eyewitnesses.

Police officers from Witbank Police Station, along with an ambulance, got to the scene just after the fire was put out.

“We are investigating the inquest of the matter. The cause of the fire is still not known yet investigation is still underway,” said Captain Eddie Hall, the communications officer at the Witbank Police Station.

The family of the deceased said that they had just buried a loved one.

Having to bury three more loved ones will cause a financial burden on them as there is only one income that they depend on.
